Organisation ProfileThe company commenced operations in 1988 as Picasso Painting & Decorating and was incorporated in 1992. In 1995 the company changed its name to Picasso Builders Pty Limited to better reflect the expanded nature of the construction industry services it provides. The company is registered in the Australian Capital Territory:
We pride ourselves in being locally owned and locally operated business with premises at 3A Stornaway Road Queanbeyan. We provide a significant contribution to the local economy by the employment of over 45 staff, the provision of a future for 10 young people through apprenticeships and traineeships, and support to local industry suppliers and contractors. All profits made locally, remain local. Picasso Builders is a business with strong ties to the local commercial and residential construction industry. We provide a wide range of services including commercial construction and fit-out, residential construction, custom joinery, building maintenance, landscaping, and painting and decorating. In December 2000 Picasso Builders purchased the business Les Robins Shopfitters & Commercial Joinery, a business that has been delivering good old-fashioned service and quality workmanship since 1927. Les Robins Shopfitters & Commercial Joinery has a reputation for providing expert advice, professional assistance and quality workmanship to all of the joinery projects it undertakes. In February 2004 Picasso Builders acquired the business of Australian Bridge Engineering Services Pty Limited, a company specialising in all aspects of bridge engineering. The services provided by Australian Bridge Engineering Service include bridge assessment, design, construction, project management, programmed maintenance and strengthening. A principal of Australian Bridge Engineering Services, Mr Miroslav (Michael) Jovanovic, has joined the team at Picasso Builders to head up our engineering consultancy division. This division now incorporates the people, procedures and systems of Australian Bridge Engineering Services. Our Key PersonnelZoran SeverZoran Sever is the Managing Director and major shareholder in Picasso Builders Pty Limited. With a Diploma in Architectural Drafting he is a licensed builder and holds both an ACT A Class builder’s license and a NSW builder’s license. Zoran brings over 21 years experience in the building and construction industry, and 16 years experience in operating and managing building companies. His enthusiasm, passion and vision have led to the growth which Picasso Builders has experienced over the previous 6 years. Miroslav (Michael) Jovanovic.Michael is the Divisional Manager of Australian Bridge Engineering Services, an engineering consulting division within Picasso Builders Pty Limited. Michael was the principal of Australian Bridge Engineering Services Pty Ltd for 8 years before Picasso Builders acquired the business. He brings with him extensive expertise and experience in bridge assessment, design, construction, strengthening and programmed maintenance. John AntoniakWith over 25 years of experience in the design and documentation of a wide range of complex building types John has worked on diverse projects from airports to aquariums. As technical support manager he is responsible for the provision of technical advice on projects, for the development of tender proposals and the preparation of project plans. A member of the Royal Australian Institute of Architects, John has a Bachelor of Architecture degree and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Design) degree. Strahinja NikolicStrahinja is a qualified landscape architect with 10 years of experience in the industry. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA). He has the professional, theoretical and practical knowledge of a wide range of landscape works that are the prerequisite for obtaining entry into the AILA With a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree, Strahinja is also a licensed builder within the ACT. Andrew Stodulka Responsible for the project management of all major works projects undertaken by the company, Andy also provides structural engineering advice in design development. Andy graduated from the University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Engineering and Honours in Soil Mechanics and Hydraulics in 1971. In 1976 he completed a Masters in Engineering Science, majoring in Hydraulic Structures. His early professional experience included appointments to the Department of Australian Construction Services and a C.B.I. Scholarship to work with Balfour Beatty and Sir William Halcrows in the United Kingdom. Tony FarrellTony joined the company in January 2001 and as General Manager. During that time he was responsible for the day-to-day operation of the business. In August 2003 he resigned from that position and since then has worked on a part-time basis as the Quality Assurance Manager A results-driven professional, Tony has extensive experience in the strategic leadership of multi-million dollar facilities-management services. He has high levels of expertise in establishing a strategic context for enhancing employee involvement and promoting culture change. He has demonstrated outstanding achievements in the leadership of consultants providing specialist advice to a wide range of public and private sector clients in property and infrastructure management. Tony is a qualified engineer with a Masters degree in Engineering Science and a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree. |
